What is AWANA?
Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed (2 Tim. 2:15)
AWANA Club is a mid-week ministry for children from Preschool – 6th grade where kids can come together to learn Scripture verses, play exciting games and have a great time in the Word of God.
Awana is a ministry dedicated to the growth and development of kids in their walk with Christ, as well as an avenue that encourages kids to learn/memorize Scripture. It strategically uses predesignated awards as a motivation for kids to continue memorizing Bible verses, thus, progressing through their individual “handbook.” Furthermore, it emphasizes parent involvement through the whole process because verses MUST be worked on at home, and never the night of Awana. Along with Scripture memorization, there is a “Games” rotation where the children are allowed to play VBS-style games tailored to the age group playing. Finally, there is a large group session where kids are able to learn more about the life of Jesus and major characters in the Bible, hear teachings on how to incorporate biblical principles into their own lives, and also worship in a high-energy corporate setting. The evening is concluded with the distribution of awards by calling kids, by name and achievement, on the stage to receive their award.
AWANA begins in August and runs through December, and another semester goes from January until May on Wednesdays from 7:00p - 9:00p. At the end of each semester, we celebrate with an Awards Night which parents and friends are invited to attend where clubbers will be recognized for their achievements.
