What is AWANA?
AWANA stands for Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed
(2 Tim. 2:15)
AWANA is a mid-week ministry for children from Preschool – 6th grade, dedicated to the growth and development of kids in their walk with Christ, as well as an avenue that encourages kids to learn/memorize Scripture and share their faith with others. It strategically uses patches, ribbons, pins and other awards as a motivation for kids to continue to progress through an age appropriate “handbook.” In a strategic partnership between home and church we work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ.
Cubbies: Ages 4-5 (not in kinder)
Sparks: Kinder-2nd grades
Adventure: 3rd - 4th grades
Challenge: 5th-6th grades
Club nights include three rotations:
1. Small Group - Verses are shared, prayer is practiced and relationships built.
2. Games - Kids play fun, high-energy, team-building games.
3. Large Group - We end our evening in a corporate setting with kid-driven worship, a video/skit Bible Lesson, and award presentations.
Water of Life AWANA is broken into two semesters. The first runs August through December, and the second semester runs from January until May on Wednesday evenings from 7:00p - 8:45p. At the end of each semester, we celebrate with an Awana Family Night - themed with fun activities for parents and friends who are encouraged to attend.
We are always looking for great Awana leaders - please consider joining our team!
